Chris began serving at SBC in February 2008. He attended Wingate University where he received a B.S. and later received a M.A.R from Liberty University. Chris is married to Heather Hawks and has 2 children, Luke and Samuel. He enjoys outdoor activities, reading DIY books and articles, and spending time with his family.

Worship Leader

Lynn Blake

Lynn has worked with our Second Baptist Church Worship Team since 2008 serving as the Worship Leader. She attended Richmond Senior High School, in Rockingham, NC, and then East Carolina University, University of Maryland, and University of North Carolina at Pembroke receiving a B.A. and M.A.T. Lynn has two children, Ray Blake and Laurel Brockschmidt. She enjoys singing with the Moore County Choral Society, participating in our local Community Theater, baking (and everyone else enjoys Lynn's baking too!), and reading.

Second Baptist Christian Academy Principal

Cheryl Lampley

Cheryl began working at Second Baptist Christian Academy as the Principal in July 2014. She attended Rockingham High School class of 1968, received a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and M.S.A in School Administration from East Carolina University. She is married to Wilson Lampley and has 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Cheryl enjoys attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and music concerts, decorating, and teaching.

Alyssa Bailey

Alyssa joined the Second Baptist Church staff in 2019. She previously had been working with Second Baptist Christian Academy as a teacher at multiple grade levels since 2000. "Aly" holds a degree in early childhood education and enjoys reading, music, and spending time with her family. She is grateful to God and considers it to be a privilege to serve the church that she loves. And We're grateful to have her on our team!
