14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.   Matthew 5:14-16

Second Baptist is a church, yes, but not merely in the traditional sense of the word.  We do indeed come together to worship at times throughout the week, but we strive to not just ATTEND church, but to BE the church in our community as well as Christ directs us.  We do not want to “do good deeds” simply to be doing good deeds.  We want to love our neighbors so that they see Christ shining through above all.  That is why we try to be out in our community and neighborhoods more and more.  Here are some of the things we as a church have been privileged to do as a body of believers just in the last few weeks.  It is a lot, but there are always a lot of opportunities to love others.  Let’s keep looking for more.  If this kind of service excites you, we’d love to have you come serve with us here at Second Baptist.
